Parking

There are three types of parking in Singapore as below :

Coupon Parking

Parking coupons must be displayed on the dashboard of your vehicle. Denominations of parking coupons are SGD 0.50, 1, 2 (day parking) and 2 (overnight parking).

Look for signboards which indicate parking rates as they vary between car parks. Parking coupons can be purchased from any of the following authorised sale outlets Top

Paid Parking

Paid parking is practised in almost all shopping centres, buildings and some public car parks. You basically pay for the time your vehicle is parked.

There are various carpark payment systems adopted, most of which would require you to have a CashCard (pre paid card) inserted in your In-Vehicle Unit to make payment for parking charges.

Season Parking

Season parking is applicable to tenants and residents at their office and residential car parks only. Avoid parking in season parking lots (red markings).

Bus Lanes

Bus lanes or left lanes with unbroken yellow lines are only used by buses during these hours: Mon to Fri (0730 hrs to 0930 hrs, 1630 hrs to 1900 hrs), Sat (0730 hrs to 0930 hrs, 1130 hrs to 1400 hrs). Avoid the bus lanes during these times.

Electronic Road Pricing Scheme (ERP)

To reduce the traffic flow into the Central Business District (CBD), all vehicles entering at certain peak timings are required to pay a toll. A toll is also imposed on vehicles passing through ERP gantries along the expressways and busy roads. Top
